Hint: Cut scrap pieces of laminate to use as spacers for installation.
Because laminate flooring has a laminate base, it adds additional strength to the floor, meaning it can withstand years of wear and tear. Hardwood does not have the same durability as laminates do making this kind of flooring in high demand. If you have heavy traffic in a room, laminate floors are a great option to lie down. It wipes clean without hard scrubbing, and the condition of the surface will stay looking good year after year. Therefore, you will have floors that look new for many years.
Pencil eraser. Skid marks left on laminate flooring by certain types of shoes and toys can often be removed by rubbing a pencil eraser over the area using gentle, circular strokes. In lieu of an eraser, you can use the rubber sole of a tennis shoe for the same purpose.
Tile. Tile is popular and extremely low-maintenance flooring. Tiles are very durable and one of the most waterproof floor coverings. Areas such as kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms need a moisture-resistant flooring like tile. Tiles are also the most versatile. They need not be used just for the floor. They can also be used for walls, countertops, stairs and even fireplaces. They are also most preferred for exterior projects. There are many types of tile such as porcelain, granite, ceramic, and marble.
The methods listed above work best on light scuffs, scrapes, and skid marks. For deeper, more stubborn blemishes in your laminate flooring, you might have to turn to commercial cleaning products to get the job done. Many manufacturers now make nonabrasive cleansers especially for high gloss laminate, so you don't have to worry about damaging the finish.
